Bio

Abbi Mieog is an emerging glass artist in the artistically fertile Northern Rivers region of NSW Australia. Her previous work as a marine biologist researching disturbance and recovery processes on coral reefs stimulates her voice as an artist.

The artistic expression of Abbi’s work is intimately inspired by; the deep meditative feelings of peace experienced connecting to a water environment, the relentless aspects of destruction and recovery on reef ecosystems, and a profound sense of gratitude for her decades spent living on the ocean in all its grit and beauty.

Currently, Abbi is being mentored by internationally acclaimed glass artist Narcissus Quagliata, renowned for his fused glass techniques that transformed what's possible in the world of glass art. Abbi is passionate about creating functional architectural glass art and stand-alone artworks. Additionally, she enjoys giving presentations with a strong public speaking background.
